Ski holidays put on ice as recession continues

written by Naomi_Richardson

It's a slippery slope it seems when it comes to ski holidays. Despite the snow laden pistes and optimum ski conditions, it seems our love affair with winter sports has been put on ice while the recession continues to hold us in its wintry grip. The numbers taking to the slopes is down by half on the 70,000 who travelled in 2007, according to the Sunday Business Post.

How to survive until pay day

written by Naomi_Richardson

There are two things about January that make me vow every year I will book a sun holiday and just pretend like it's not happening. January is always going to be an unpopular month - it falls after the party month. Call it hangover month. You feel nothing but pain and wish it was all over. It's the adult month to your December child.

Here's some good news. We keep hearing about how our classrooms are lagging behind in the technology stakes and while many may go down the traditional route of a cake sale, there is an easier way to help out our children. written by Naomi_Richardson

Insurance is a hot topic this week as the November storms wreak havoc around the country. Thousands of homes have been affected by the flood waters and hopefully all of them will have had insurance cover or it will be a very miserable Christmas indeed. But according to a report in the Irish Times at the weekend householders may find it difficult to get cover for "predictable events" like regular flooding.
