After much anticipation, UPC have just launched the fastest broadband (by a country kilometer in Ireland), the 100mb UPC Fiber Power broadband product, to selected areas. This product sees UPC step ahead of all other Internet Service Providers. At least x4 times better than the best of the rest.

Initial area’s available at launch: Swords, Malahide, Maynooth, Celbridge, Clane, Kilcock, Dublin and Tallaght – all were released last night. This is around 280k homes.  More are to follow shortly across the UPC network

The firm says the plan will allow advanced web services to be delivered to internet users, vastly increasing their online capabilities.

The 100mb Product will carry a monthly cost of €80.

This can be ordered on its own, and as always, if no UPC TV product is in place a standalone charge of €7.75 will also apply.

100mb broadband will require special equipment and will be installed and setup by specially trained UPC technicians.  There will be a €80 installation fee if ordered online on uchoose.ie or €100 for orders taken over the phone.

You can order the service by first checking your area and then filling out a short enquiry form on our broadband comparison, and a UPC representative will call you back immediately

Prior to the order being installed, UPC will confirm with the customer all hardware requirements to ensure they have the correct computer specifications required to get the best out of this amazing product. (you need the latest high spec machines)

  • In telecommunications, broadband is a wide bandwidth data transmission with an ability to simultaneously transport multiple signals and traffic types. The medium can be coaxial cable, optical fiber, radio or twisted pair. In the context of Internet access, broadband is used to mean any high-speed Internet access that is always on and faster than traditional dial-up access.
